Family Members and Guests
The 2014 Fall Commencement exercise will be held on Friday, December 19, 2014 in Stegeman Coliseum. The Undergraduate ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m., and the Graduate exercise gets underway at 2:30 p.m. Doors for the morning ceremony open at 8 a.m. The ceremony will be broadcast live on Channel 15 of the University Cable System and Channel 181 of the Charter Cable System. It also will be streamed live here. While tickets are not needed for the Graduate exercise, they are required for the Undergraduate ceremony. Undergraduate candidates are allowed up to 6 tickets. NOTE: Bags, purses or backpacks exceeding 12"x12"x12”, and wrapped packages wherein the contents are not visible* are prohibited inside Stegeman Colisuem. Food, drinks (non-glass, non-aluminum, non-alcoholic) and soft-sided coolers (with the plastic liner removed) ARE permitted. Beverage containers may also be subject to inspection.
* We advise either wrapping the gift item inside the coliseum after the item has been inspected or place the unboxed gift item in a gift bag. Our security personnel will ask guests to open any wrapped items for inspection. Gate personnel are instructed to enforce this rule in the interest of safety. Coliseum security has the right to inspect any item at any time for the purpose of spectator safety. Prohibited items must be returned to cars or disposed of before entering the coliseum, and will not be accepted by employees nor stored at the gates.
CONSTRUCTION ADVISORY: Construction of UGA's new Science Learning Center is underway. The site is east of Stegeman Coliseum. Also, Rutherford Street, just west of Stegeman Coliseum, will be closed due to the renovation of Foley Baseball Field. Expect traffic delays, so please plan to arrive early.

Disability Access Information
For Sanford Stadium:
Visitors with disability concerns are strongly encouraged to arrive early at the stadium, where seating for wheelchairs is very limited.
Disabled parking is available in lots N-10 and E-12 near the stadium. Gate 6 and the Will Call window lobby on East Campus Road are designated for drop off. Gates 2-6, and Will Call are wheelchair accessible.
Elevators will access to the 100, 200 and 300 levels are located at the Southeast corner of the stadium near Gate 4 and at the Will Call lobby on East Campus Road.
Seating: As stated above, seating for wheelchairs is very limited in Sanford Stadium. In the East end zone, seating areas can be found in Sections 114 and 124 with space for only 5-6 persons. There also will be a sky suite open on the 200 level in Section 213. The suite is enclosed and has TVs with a live feed of the ceremony. Again, seating is very limited in these areas so we ask for only one accompanying family member.
For Stegeman Coliseum:
Disabled parking is available in lots S-12 (Hoke Smith Annex) and S-16 (Coverdell Building). Both lots are adjacent to Stegeman Coliseum.
Visitors with disability concerns are strongly encouraged to arrive early at the coliseum. Seating for wheelchairs is very limited in the arena. Main entrances to Stegeman Coliseum along Sanford Drive and Carlton Street are wheelchair accessible.
An elevator with access to the floor level is located in the Southeast corner of the arena near the Smith Street Lobby entrance to the facility.
Seating: Seating for wheelchairs is very limited in the Coliseum. Along the top row of the lower level are several sections for wheelchair and companion seating. And since the number of seats in each of these sections varies, we ask that accompanying family members be kept to a minimum.
Note: Please be aware that UGA does not provide wheelchairs. There will be no UGA personnel available to assist visitors to their seats.
To accommodate guests for the 2014 Fall Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement exercises at Stegeman Coliseum, parking for the South Deck (S11), Carlton St Deck (S15), and lots S10, S12, S14 and S16 will be reserved for graduates, their guests, and participants.
Parking and bus transportation routes for Commencement can be viewed here. Please do not park on sidewalks, fire lanes, loading docks, landscaped areas, or on streets except in designated parking areas. Improperly parked cars may be towed at the owner's expense.
For Sanford Stadium:
First aid care is available for candidates and visitors at the first aid station located behind Section 119 in Sanford Stadium. This care is provided by staff of the University Health Center. Local ambulance services provide emergency care if required.
For Stegeman Coliseum:
First aid care is available for candidates and visitors at the first aid station located behind Section L in Stegeman Coliseum. This care is provided by staff of the University Health Center. Local ambulance services provide emergency care if required.

In Case of Rain or Severe Weather
Because the 2014 Fall Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement ceremonies are being held indoors at Stegeman Coliseum, the university's inclement weather policy does not apply.
