Faculty & Marshals

Faculty regalia rental forms can be obtained by registering (link to registration section). Regalia request forms are due to the UGA Bookstore by March 14 Requests submitted after that date are not guaranteed and may incur a personal rush fee of $20 or more. The University will cover the cost of Regalia rental only for faculty who are attending one of the UGA commencement ceremonies and will not pay for regalia for faculty only attending a college convocation.

Friday May 9, 2025, 7:30 p.m. - Sanford Stadium.

Participation

If you wish to participate in the undergraduate ceremony, please REGISTER HERE by March 14.

Marshals:

Faculty representing their school or college as student marshals at the undergraduate commencement ceremony will be receiving a communication from the Office of the Registrar concerning their role in commencement, including the date and time of a marshals’ meeting that will provide an overview of the ceremony. If you have questions about serving as a marshal, please email Adam Lawrence in the Office of the Registrar at adamlaw@uga.edu. Please note that service as a marshal is separate from participating as faculty member in the faculty processional. As a reminder, faculty serving as marshals wear faculty regalia to the ceremony.

Parking

Parking is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.  Use the registration link to request a parking pass for the Tate Center Parking Deck. The deadline to register for parking is March 14.  To receive a faculty parking pass, please indicate that you need one when you register to participate using the link above.

Assembly

Faculty should report to Tate Student Center, Tate Reception Hall by 6:30 p.m. Lineup will begin at 7:20 p.m.

Dinner

A dinner buffet will be provided.  Dinner service begins at 5:30 p.m. If you would like to participate in the dinner buffet, please indicate when you register to participate using the link above (there is an option to let us know if you have any dietary needs.)

Gate Entrance

Non-Hooding Faculty

Please enter via Gate D or G to enter Stegeman Coliseum.  Follow the signs down the stairs to the lower level Tunnel 2 conference room for non-hooding faculty.

Hooding Faculty

Please enter via the Smith Street entrance with your student to the second floor basketball practice gym.  You will process in with your student.

Graduate Assembly

Master's/Specialists

Faculty participating in the processional should report to the Tunnel 2 Conference Room on the lower level of Stegeman Coliseum. These faculty members will march in immediately preceding the platform party.

TIME: 8:30am.

Doctoral

Major professors/hooding faculty should make plans with their doctoral candidate to meet prior to entering the coliseum.  Faculty participating in the hooding activity will sit with their doctoral students in the Coliseum and be part of the academic procession. You will line up with your student(s) in the Basketball Practice Gym, which is on the second floor of the Coliseum Training Facility. Please make plans to meet in the Coliseum with your student no later than 1:00pm
